ISLES of CAPRI WATER SYSTEM

This blog will follow daily the progress of the installation of our new water pipes. The company will be working 4-10 hour days with friday open for surveying and cleaning up on the previous weeks work. The company and the county request that all people that are watching the progress to maintain a safe distance from working personal and equiptment. This blog hopefully will show you the progress daily in order to keep you as informed as possible.

FRIDAYS WORK

IT'S FRIDAY AND IT IS POTHOLING DAY. THE CREW GOES AHEAD WHERE THE DIGGING WILL BE NEXT WEEK AND DIGS HOLES TO CONFIRM WHERE UNDERGROUND TELEPHONE, CABLE AND WATER LINES ARE.

DURING THIS PROCESS THE EXISTING WATER PIPE WAS LOCATED AND MARKED WITH PVC PIPE WITH THE DEPTH MARKED ON IT.

WHILE DIGGING, THE NEW PIPE HAS LOCATOR PVC PIPE INSTALLED AT COUPLINGS, VALVES AND TURNS. LATER, A 3" LOCATOR BALL WILL BE INSTALLED AT 24" DEEP. THE LOCATOR WILL FIND THESE BALLS, ELECTRONICALLY LABEL THEM, AND AN AS BUILT PRINT WILL BE MADE.
FINALLY A 3" WIDE METALLIC TAPE IS LAYED 24" ABOVE THE NEW WATER PIPE TO HOPEFULLY STOP DIGGING IN THE WRONG PLACE. PRINTED ON THE
TAPE IS " CAUTION BURIED WATER LINE BELOW"
