ISLES of CAPRI WATER SYSTEM

This blog will follow daily the progress of the installation of our new water pipes. The company will be working 4-10 hour days with friday open for surveying and cleaning up on the previous weeks work. The company and the county request that all people that are watching the progress to maintain a safe distance from working personal and equiptment. This blog hopefully will show you the progress daily in order to keep you as informed as possible.

GRENADA AVE MAIN ISOLATION VALVES

THE  12"  MAIN ISOLATION VALVE AND THE
NEW  6"  GRENADA AVE ISOLATION VALVE
                                        ARE INSTALLED.

THE EXISTING 2" FEED IS EXPOSED DURING THIS WORK.  THE  2" PIPE IS TIED INTO THE OLD  6"  WATER PIPE.

NEXT, THE  6"  ISOLATION VALVE FOR THE FIRE
HYDRANT IS INSTALLED..

A  6" BLUE PVC SLEEVE IS VERTICALLY PLACED OVER EACH VALVE IN ORDER TO ALLOW A TOOL TO BE LOWERED DOWN AND OPEN OR CLOSE THE VALVE.

ON THE TOP OF THE BLUE PVC SLEEVE IS A BLACK METAL SLEEVE WITH A LID THAT IS PRINTED "WATER"

NEXT TO THE SLEEVE IS THE LOCATOR BALL, WHICH IS TALKED ABOUT IN A PREVIOUS BLOG.

THE SURVEY CREW  LOCATES ALL OF THE VALVES TO AID IN CREATING AN AS BUILT PRINT.
