The company will be working 4-10 hour days with friday open for surveying and cleaning up on the previous weeks work. The company and the county request that all people that are watching the progress to maintain a safe distance from working personal and equiptment. MILESTONE

THE FIRST HOMES TO HAVE THE NEW WATER SYSTEM CONNECTED TO THEM ARE ON ANTIGUA ST..


"DAN FUSSEL" OF THE COLLIER COUNTY WATER DEPARTMENT BEGINS ASSEMBLING THE NEW WATER METERS AND BACK FLOW DEVICES..



SOME OF THE METERS ARE 3/4" SIZE AND OTHERS ARE 1". THE ASSEMBLED UNITS ARE READY FOR THE DIGGING CREW TO INSTALL..



DAN RECORDS THE METER NUMBER OF THE OLD METER AND THE NEW WATER METER..



"JERRY ZIMMERMAN", OF THE WATER DEPARTMENT, INSTRUCTS THE DIGGING CREW WHERE TO PLACE THE NEW DEVICES..



IT'S DECIDED THAT ALL NEW WATER METERS WILL BE 18' 6" FROM THE EDGE OF THE ROAD..



THE BLUE WATER PIPE IS FLUSHED..


THE MAIN NEW WATER PIPE IS FLUSHED..



ALL OF THE DIGGING IS DONE BY HAND..




A SINGLE WATER METER IS INSTALLED WHERE ONE OF THE TWO LOTS IS EMPTY..


TWO WATER METERS ARE INSTALL SIDE BY SIDE TO FEED TWO RESIDENCES..



NEW METER BOXES ARE PLACED OVER THE WATER METER..



THE AREA IS CLEANED AND RESTORED BACK TO THE ORIGINAL CONDITION..



AT THIS POINT, THE SUPERINTENDENT "FELIPE" AND MYSELF FELT IT WAS OUR DUTY TO BE THE FIRST TO TASTE THE WATER FROM THE NEW SYSTEM..

THE BACK FLOW DEVICES CAN NOT BE INSTALLED UNDERGROUND. THEY MIST BE ABOVE THE GROUND AND PLANTS CAN BE USED TO HIDE THEM..
