THE CREW OF DN HIGGINS CUTS THE OLD ASPHALT TO PREPARE FOR THE PATCH TO BE LAID IN PLACE..
GRAVEL IS HAULED IN TO LINE THE NEW DRIVES..
THE OLD ASPHALT IS CLEANED OUT..
AND LOADED TO BE TAKEN AWAY..
THE AREAS IN FRONT OF THE RESTAURANTS TO BE ASPHALTED ARE MARKED..
THE NEW ASPHALT IS LAID FROM THE ROAD TO THE SET BACK LINE..
THE ROAD CREW PREPARES FOR LAYING HOT ASPHALT..
THE NOZZLES ON THE PRIMING TRUCK ARE HEATED TO RELEASE THE PRIMER..
THE DIRT AREA IS BRUSHED CLEAN..
THEN THE PRIMER TRUCK SPREADS THE HOT PRIMER..
THE ASPHALT IS LOADED INTO THE PAVING MACHINE..
AND THE MACHINE BEGINS LAYING THE NEW ASPHALT..
THE ASPHALT MUST BE KEPT AT A TEMPERATURE OF BETWEEN 190* AND 305* TO ALLOW IT TO BE PROPERLY ROLLED IN..
THE ROLLER TURNS ON THE WATER TO KEEP THE STEEL WHEELS FROM STICKING TO THE HOT ASPHALT..
THEN BEGINS TO ROLL THE PATCH IN..
A ROLLER WITH RUBBER TIRES FINISHES OFF THE COMPACTION OF THE ASPHALT..
THE FIRE DEPARTMENT HAS A NEW DRIVE LAID ALSO..
AND ROLLED IN..
THE FINISHED PRODUCT...NO MORE MUD IN FRONT OF THE RESTAURANTS, IT IS ALL PAVED NOW.
