ISLES of CAPRI WATER SYSTEM

This blog will follow daily the progress of the installation of our new water pipes. The company will be working 4-10 hour days with friday open for surveying and cleaning up on the previous weeks work. The company and the county request that all people that are watching the progress to maintain a safe distance from working personal and equiptment. This blog hopefully will show you the progress daily in order to keep you as informed as possible.

DECHLORINATING - MAIN WATER PIPE

FOR THE LAST 3 DAYS THE WATER SYSTEM HAS BEEN SUPER-CHLORINATED. THE SYSTEM IS NOW FLUSHED AND THE CHLORINE LEVELS BROUGHT DOWN TO PROPER LEVELS. THE HIGHLY CHLORINATED WATER HAS TO BE DELUDED IN ORDER TO FLUSH THE SYSTEM AND NOT DAMAGE THE GRASS AND PLANTS AROUND THE FIRE HYDRANTS. VITAMIN C IS USED TO ACCOMPLISH THIS.
A SYPHON NOZZLE IS ATTACHED TO THE FIRE HYDRANT..
A BUCKET IS ATTACHED TO THE NOZZLE WITH PLASTIC HOSES..
THE VITAMIN C IS MIXED IN THE BUCKET..
AND THE FLUSHING BEGINS.
EACH STREET IS FLUSHED USING THE FIRE HYDRANTS AT THE END OF EACH STREET.

THE NEW WATER PIPE CREW LINES UP AND BEGINS BURYING THE 12" MAIN LINE TOWARDS CRISTOBAL ST.
THEY DIG AND COVER AS THEY GO..
THE NEW WATER PIPE HAS TO GO BENEATH A 24" STREET DRAIN..
AS THE CREW APPROACHES CRISTOBAL ST. THEY PREPARE THE 12" MAIN AND 6" STREET SUB-MAIN..
THEY CUT THE ASPHALT AND CONTINUE ACROSS THE SIDE STREET..
THE NEW WATER PIPE THAT IS USED TO CROSS SIDE STREETS IS THICKER THAN THE STANDARD PIPE.
