THE 6" AC EXISTING WATER PIPE, THAT WAS INSTALLED IN 1956, IS EXPOSED..
A SUBMERSABLE PUMP IS COVERED IN GRAVEL TO COLLECT THE WATER WHEN THE PIPE IS CUT OPEN..
A CIRCLE CUT CHAIN WRENCH IS PREPARED FOR CUTTING THE AC PIPE..
A COUNTY WATER DEPARTMENT EMPLOYEE INSTRUCTS THE WORKER ON THE USE OF THE CHAIN WRENCH CUTTING TOOL..
BEFORE THE CUTTING IS STARTED, ALL PERSONAL NOT IN PROPER CLOTHING AND RESPERATORS ARE MOVED BACK..
THE AC WATER PIPE IS CUT OUT, BAGGED AND LABELED WHERE IT CAME FROM BEFORE BEING SENT TO A SPECIAL STORAGE AREA..
THE AC WATER PIPE ENDS ARE PREPARED FOR THE NEW COUPLING..
A HYMAX COUPLING IS USED TO CONNECT THE AC PIPE TO THE PVC PIPE..
THE HYMAX IS INSTALLED ON THE PVC WATER PIPE..
THE NEW SPLICE WITH THE NEW ISOLATION VALVE IS LOWERED INTO PLACE..
THE HYMAX COUPLINGS ARE SLIPPED OVER THE AC WATER PIPE AND BOLTED IN PLACE..
THE BLUE FLUSHING WATER PIPE IS INSERTED INTO THE TWO SADDLE TAPS..
WITH THE NEW ISOLATION VALVE CLOSED, THE SOUTH FLUSHING PIPE IS OPENED TO FLUSH THE PIPE OF AIR AND ANY DEBRI THAT MIGHT HAVE GOTTEN IN DURING CUTTING..
THE WATER PRESSURE IS SLOWLY INCREASED TO PREVENT DAMAGE TO THE WATER PIPES..
AFTER THE SOUTH SIDE IS FLUSHED, THE NORTH SIDE IS FLUSHED..
AS THE FLUSHING NEARS AN END, THE DIGGING CREW STARTS TO BACK FILL THE DITCH..
GRAVEL IS PLACED AROUND THE NEW SPLICE..
A SAMPLING POINT IS INSTALLED AND THE NEW 6" ISOLATION VALVE IS OPENED TO RESTORE SERVICE TO THE 6" LINE..
